NEW TO YOGA?
YOU’RE IN THE RIGHT PLACE.
Starting yoga can feel intimidating, especially if you feel stiff, out of shape, unsure what the poses mean, or worried you won’t be able to keep up. At Balance Yoga, beginners are taught how to move, breathe, and understand their bodies in a small, supportive setting.
You do not have to be flexible to start yoga.
What to Expect at Your First Yoga Class
Your first yoga class should not feel like a test.
At Balance Yoga, you’ll be guided through the movements, shown how to use props when they help, and encouraged to work with the body you have today.
You do not need to know the poses ahead of time. You do not need to be flexible. And you do not need to keep up with anyone else.
Our small class sizes make it easier to ask questions, learn proper alignment, and understand why you are moving the way you are.

Beginner yoga at Balance Yoga may be a good fit if:
You’ve never tried yoga before
You’re returning to yoga after time away
You feel stiff, tight, or unsure where to begin
You want to understand the poses instead of simply copying what everyone else is doing
You want help with alignment, posture, and body mechanics
You appreciate options, props, and modifications that help movement fit your body
You prefer a smaller class where questions are welcome and individual attention is possible
You do not need to be flexible, experienced, or “good at yoga” before you start. That is what you come here to learn.
Your best place to begin is Mindful Movement Yoga Basics, our beginner-friendly class designed to help you learn the foundations of yoga, breathing, alignment, and body mechanics in a small, supportive setting.
